Our children’s ministry ranges from Sunday school to yearly Vacation Bible School and everything else in between. In today’s world, children are facing a sinful and wicked world like never before, and that can be scary for them. But what if they have a very powerful friend who loves them unconditionally and is with them always listening to their every cry of concern?
At Point of Life Community Church, our goal is to help children understand who Jesus is, what Jesus has done for us, and that when you have Jesus, you have a friend forever! On Sunday mornings, we have a class for the 1st-6th graders and a class for preschool/kindergarten where children here Bible stories and learn lessons they can apply to their lives.
Our preschool/kindergarten teacher is Karen Hinton. She has been in children’s ministry and teaching preschool/kindergarten for 25 years! The love she has for this age group is amazing. Her goal for her class is to start the foundation of christianity beliefs in these children. She works with her students to learn short key verses with a reward system to hide God’s truth in their hearts at a young age, that they will take with them the rest of their lives.
Our 1st-6th grade teacher, Gabriella Lemoine, is experienced with children with learning disabilities after growing up with a sister who has Autism. In her classroom, she has fidget toys available for children to use while listening to the lesson to help them concentrate. She works with students to build Bible using skills, working together, helping others, trusting Jesus, and so much more.
It’s easier for a child to trust and believe in Jesus, than it is a teenager or adult. So this is why it’s important to teach them about Jesus early so they can take Jesus with them throughout their teenager years and into their adult years.
Jesus said, “Leave the little children alone, and don’t try to keep them from coming to me, because the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”
